The Swift Etching Press
A collaboration with Collin Cole, and engineer Peter Spann. Collin after having used various locally manufactured presses, had never-ending issues, decided to ask his friend and engineer Mr Peter Spann to design a robust press that can give you acurate and controlled pressure. "Yes", his response was. "Hydraulically". The nett result was, the SWIFT Hydraulic Etching Press with pin point pressure precision.
During the past year, Building and Industrial Equipment (Pty) Ltd2 (est. 1970), manufactured and sold a further 6 of the SWIFT hydraulic printing presses.
The new artist/owners are excited with their remarkably easy to operate equipment. The practicality of a traditional printing press is improved by the effectiveness and precision of this hydraulic model, fulfilling the requirements of a contemporary printmaker to create individual Fine Art print and print editions.
