Re-Emergence | Collin Cole
The process of becoming visible after a period of concealment or isolation.
This portfolio of work is a representation of works, past and newly discovered as well as new images completed in the “quiet time”.
The isolation period gave me the opportunity to look through some of my works that had been stored away for a while. Bringing them out to the light again, made me aware, that the context in which one looks and interprets an image, is closely dependent on what is reflected for the viewer in the “now”.
Fresh eyes allowed a new body of works to emerge out of and because of the older works, recreating a cycle of content. Much like history in our times, which has a way of repeating and reinventing its cycle.
